Alexandre Gallo began playing career for Botafogo de Ribeirao Preto in 1986. He held various clubs, such as Victoria, Santos, Sao Paulo, Botafogo and Atletico Mineiro, to end the playing career with Corinthians in 2001. He won the Paulista Championship 1998 in Sao Paulo and the Campeonato Mineiro 1999 and 2000.

His first job after hanging the cleats was as assistant-engineer Carlos Alberto Parreira in Barcelona in 2002. He was also assistant-engineer Dario Pereyra on Grêmio in 2003. The first team trained by Gallo was the Villa Nova-MG in 2004. Also in 2004, Gallo hold for the last time the post of assistant-technical, working together with Wanderley Luxembourg in Santos, in 2004, Brazilian champion is sacred. Since then, Gallo is the only profession of acting coach, where led the teams of the Portuguese Sport, Santos, FC Tokyo and Sport Recife. In the south, Alexandre Gallo took a pass by International, for which team in 20 games won the title of the Recopa Sudamericana, 2007, and also commanded the Middlesbrough Catarinense which won the championship in 2008. Gallo was also in charge of the club Atletico Mineiro in the year 2008.
